From the front, it’s quite tall
From the top down it looks like a spaceship
This new landscape is located in Lingang Special Area
Site of the Fifth World Top Scientists Forum
It integrates conference halls and digital libraries
Entertainment facilities such as hotel banquets, commercial performances, etc.
Build a modern, high-quality science and technology innovation center
It is reported that the venue is positioned as a “world-class new era of major cutting-edge science sources” and is an important supporting facility for the top scientist community. It is located in the central area of the International Innovation Collaboration Zone. The planned land area is about 3.2 square kilometers, and the planned total construction volume is about 3.03 million square meters.
The construction officially started on March 28, 2021, and the basement construction of 60,000 square meters was completed on September 15. The average building height rises at 1.5 meters per day, and the construction will be officially completed September next year.
In addition to the venue, there are also supporting facilities such as high-end hotels, commerce, theaters, etc.
Citizens and tourists can also come and check in for leisure
Can experience AI interactions
The supporting hotel is mainly operated by Jinjiang International Group. It will feature an AI interactive experience area in the hotel lobby. It will simulate the annual scientific achievements. This unique hotel is scheduled to be put into operation on October 1, 2022.
Here is the first in Lingang
A top-notch theater with over 800 seats
As the first comprehensive theater with more than 800 seats in the Lingang Special Area Lingang Dingke Theater aims to “enrich the entertainment life of the masses”, presenting high-end performing arts categories such as musicals, dance dramas, operas, dramas, symphonies, etc., and continue to show the strength of the local culture. The theater is operated by the Shanghai Wenguang Performing Arts Group and will play the leading role of its eight state-owned art troupes. Using performing arts content as a window, the theater will create a new landmark of Shanghai’s urban culture. It will open in early November 2022.
Digital Science Library
The digital library will be positioned as a “digital immersive interactive experience library”, integrating public gathering space, cultural experience space, tourism and leisure space, and commercial consumption space, forming a “rich reading experience, complete scientific and technological information, and smooth international collaboration.” The goal is to create the world’s first digital immersive library, run by Shanghai Xinhua Media Co., Ltd. It’s planned to be put into operation on October 1, 2022.
The Science Park displays the design concept of “ubiquitous green, ubiquitous science, and ubiquitous art.” Based on the concept of “Mobius Ring”, an architectural space with multiple functions including slow traffic, exhibition, culture, and performing arts is formed, forming the “Avenue of Stars” that showcases the achievements of scientists.
The Mobius ring is an image of the interstellar space in outer space, which is built on the continuous undulating landscape of the Science Park. Overlooking the Science Park at night, the Mobius ring is an absolute highlight of the visual center. It is set off by other similarly shaped circular light wells, ponds, and other elements, as well as colorful lighting rendering, forming a dreamlike fantasy starry sky scene.
There are “zero-carbon” buildings that reflect the beauty of science
The zero-carbon building design is inspired by the Klein bottle. The Klein bottle is an extension of the Mobius ring. In the field of mathematics, it refers to a non-directional plane, and in topology, it is a non-directional topological space. The zero-carbon building adopts a wooden structure to minimize carbon emissions. The power supply adopts photovoltaic power generation combined with capacitor energy storage. The lighting adopts DC power supply. Other electrical appliances adopt DC-AC modules for DC-to-AC power supply. The excess power supply can be passed through the microgrid. It provides energy for itself, neighboring buildings, electric buses, and electric vehicles.
There is also the Jiangnan Garden like the impression of West Lake
The Jiangnan Garden is based on the theme of “West Lake Impression”, aiming to provide the experience of classical gardens, and realize the original traditional Jiangnan style.
The spatial layout of Jiangnan Garden pays attention to the various applications. The way to create cultural landscape landmarks such as lotus ponds, pavilions, etc., returns from modern fashion to traditional context.
Such a technological building + magical park can only be seen in the world’s top science community
