The “Special Plan for the Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry in Lingang Special Area (2020-2025)” describes the timetable and route map of the special area towards intelligent connected vehicles. At present, the total mileage of open test roads in Lingang Special Area has reached 118.2 kilometers.
Among them, the Huanhuyi Road Smart Public Transport Project obtained the first demonstration application license for intelligent networked commercial vehicle in Shanghai, creating a new model project for smart travel in the Lingang Special Area. In the near future, it will focus on specific scenarios such as ports and parks, trunk logistics scenarios, and autonomous driving products, to create a new business model of “technology + products + operation” and is committed to becoming the “leader of all-scenario autonomous driving solutions and network freight platforms” in the commercial vehicle field. The smart heavy truck of Shanghai Tucson Future Artificial Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd. located on the Donghai Bridge is the first batch of artificial intelligence pilot application “AI + traffic” scenario projects in Shanghai. It has completed 1,350 vehicle tests on the Donghai Bridge, with a total mileage of more than 70,000 kilometers.
As a technical support platform, Shanghai Lingang Intelligent Connected Vehicle Research Center focuses on building a public technical service platform and promoting large-scale industrial demonstration applications. It has provided test services in closed areas for more than 20 companies. On the open test roads in the special area, the company has assisted companies to obtain 36 road test licenses, with a cumulative test mileage of 587,300 kilometers.
Accelerating the layout of the hydrogen energy industry
With the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, the development of hydrogen energy and fuel cell vehicles has become a global consensus. The “14th Five-Year Plan” for the Development of the Lingang Special Area listed hydrogen energy as a “future industry” for the first time. An “International Hydrogen Energy Valley” will be built during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. Recently, the “Implementation Plan for Building High-Quality Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Application Scenarios in Lingang Special Area (2021-2025)” was officially released, further proposing that by 2025, the Lingang Special Area should be built as a pilot area for hydrogen energy development in Shanghai. Lingang will lead the country in terms of technological leadership, industrial agglomeration, completeness of facilities, and application coverage. It is the first to demonstrate and establish industry benchmarks in the fields of new energy hydrogen production and storage, pipeline hydrogen supply, distributed and combined heat and power.
The China-Japan (Shanghai) Local Development Cooperation Demonstration Zone has been officially inaugurated and is one of the six China-Japan local development cooperation demonstration zones. Now it has successively settled in more than 20 key enterprises around the upstream and downstream companies of the hydrogen energy industry chain such as Shenergy, Shanghai Hydrogen Chen, Shanghai Zhizhen, Shanghai Tangfeng, and Magnesium Power. The first hydrogen refueling station in Lingang Special Area Pingxiao Road Oil-Hydrogen Combined Station will be completed and put into use within this year. After completion, it will provide hydrogen refueling services for Lingang T6 line buses and Lingang hydrogen fuel logistics vehicles.
A few days ago, the dual-headquarters project of Cummins Hydrogen China Headquarters and Hydrogen China R&D Center Headquarters, known as the “Tesla of the Hydrogen Energy Industry”, settled in Lingang. The next heavyweight project is also the first Fortune 500 headquarters project in the special area that integrates R&D, manufacturing, trade, and supply chain. It is of great significance to the special area to accelerate the international development of the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle industry.
